Thorvald Bindesbøll was a Danish architect and Art Nouveau designer who created some of the most iconic logos and labels in Danish 20th Century culture. His life’s work forms part of the Danish Cultural Canon.
Bindesbøll did not receive many commissions for architecture during his life time, and therefore turned to design. His bold ceramic jugs are famous, as are his fountains, book designs, and not least logos. No Dane is unfamiliar with his classic “Hof” label for Carlsberg Beer from 1904, which in modernized form is still in use.
Among his relatively few buildings, a favorite is the wooden fish packing house in Skagen (1907) which now houses a high-end seafood restaurant.

Arne Jacobsen (Feb. 11, 1902 - 1971) was a brilliant Danish architect and designer - world famous for his chairs which have been particularly beloved by American Presidents from Kennedy to Obama...
Jacobsen was a Modernist pioneer in Dansih architecture, as witnessed by his own Functionalist house in Charlottenlund, Copenhagen from 1929. He also designed a beautiful gas station a bit up the coast in Skovshoved in 1936.
The final image shows three of his iconic chairs (The Drop, The Egg, and The Swan) - created for the SAS Royal Hotel across from the Copenhagen Central Station. You can see the hotel, which is Arne Jacobsen’s chief Gesamtkunstwerk (1958-60) in the b&w photo behind the chairs. If you stay at the hotel, ask for Room 606 which is fullt preserved in the original style with all the furnishings.
